Description: Uptown Down South is a collection of menus that is the culmination of a five-year project of the Junior League of Greenville, Inc. The more than 400 triple-tested recipes are arranged in menus that take you from morning to midday and into the evening. Ranging from the uptown elegance of gourmet dinners and cocktail parties to down south casual dining on the patio or tailgating before the game, each menu has been planned with special attention to taste, appearance and recipe compatibility. 

The rationale behind the menu format of Uptown Down South was to develop a book to help today's hostess and family chef streamline entertainment and meal preparation. Many of our menus highlight traditional holidays, family gatherings and social occasions enjoyed everywhere, with serving suggestions or decorating ideas. 

Uptown Down South goes a step beyond the standard by offering glimpses of our lifestyle in Greenville, South Carolina. By featuring historical aspects of Greenville, along with cultural, social and community events, we have tried to share some of the uptown advantages and down South amenities Greenville offers.
