Additional Details

Description: The New Temple Treasures cookbook is the result of countless requests for a current cookbook filled with an assortment of the marvelous recipes our own congregants love. We have attempted to gather into one place those favorite little morsels, succulent successes and traditional standards that too often are found scribbled on bits of paper or filed away in the brain of a favorite cook. The selections range from old-fashioned recipes, like Just Like Grandma's Stuffed Cabbage, to trendy, California-influenced recipes, like Midsummer's Night Dream (a pesto-filled cream cheese roll). Some are serious, like Bechamel Roll With Spinach Filling and others are not so serious, like One-Bite Delights and Pretzel Jello. In addition, we have included the best of Temple Treasures, since many of us do not own copies and it is no longer available.

Many of us cook and bake for the love of food. We derive pleasure from entertaining our family and friends. We bring goodies as a special treat to let someone know we care. Like generations before us and generations to come, we often express our feelings through our culinary endeavors. We hope our heartfelt desire to contribute to those efforts is reflected in the pages of this book. The joy of this project was deepened by the cooperative spirit engendered by many Temple members working together and sharing their talents. The uniqueness of the book is measured by the blending of generations. In more than one case, a younger member worked with an older member to preserve treasured recipes which never before were written. Those of us who have had the pleasure of working closely with all of you have been rewarded with many rich learning experiences and lasting friendships, which further strengthen the bonds of sisterhood and our congregation.
