Description: A Taste of Lahaina, held annually in September since 1993, is Maui's favorite food festival. A three day event full of food, fun and a whole lot more, A Taste of Lahaina grows in popularity every year. This cookbook contains many award winning recipes served at A Taste of Lahaina. In addition, it contains the Best of the Taste award winners for 1994 and 1995. Favorite recipes from members of the community round out the selection. 

LahainaTown Action Committee, a non-profit community organization, is the creator and coordinator of A Taste of Lahaina. Formed in 1988 to preserve the historic integrity, re-kindle the small town atmosphere, and promote the uniqueness of Lahaina, the LahainaTown Action Committee has since become a vigorous, visible organization with wide community support. Other annual events coordinated by LahainaTown Action Committee include WhaleFest, Art Night Celebration, and Halloween. A big mahalo to all the chefs, restaurants and individuals who shared their treasured recipes with us.
