Description: During her first year in business as proprietor of The Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts, Ruth Graves Wakefield published her collection of recipes in book form at the request of friends. In each succeeding edition, she added recipes and revised the original 1936 edition. All the dishes were served at The Toll House Inn.

Condition: Cover has cloth wear at spine with binding mesh showing. Interior binding slightly is loose and mesh shows though book is well-bound. The opening page has a gift inscription in ink dated Christmas 1942. Further good condition.
