Description:  On New Year's Eve 1992, we opened our doors to celebrate not only the new year, but the beginning of a new venture called Restaurant LuLu. Located in the then fledgling neighborhood of SoMa (south of Market Street) in San Francisco, customers were drawn by the glow of the wood-burning rotisserie and the wonderful aromas of the rustic cuisine that integrated the flavors of Provence with California ingredients. 

Restaurant LuLu has been a popular destination for both visitors and locals ever since that fateful night. A fun place to dine and drink, the restaurant has received many honors throughout the years, including being selected by The San Francisco Chronicle as one of its 2005 Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants and receiving Wine Spectator magazine's "Best of Award of Excellence" for 2004 and 2005. 

Our family has grown to include three additional restaurants in California, Azie in San Francisco, Zibibbo in Palo Alto, and a second Restaurant LuLu in Mammoth Lakes, four gourmet delicatessens named LuLu Petite, and a catering company. Although the menus at each establishment reflect the influences of different worldwide cuisines, the mission of each is the same - to create distinctive dishes with bold flavors using the freshest ingredients. 

In 1997 our chefs decided to bottle some of the unique condiments they'd created at the restaurant and launched Restaurant LuLu Gourmet Products. From those initial offerings, which included Fig Balsamic Vinegar and White Truffle Honey, the LuLu line has grown to over 50 products including sauces, vinegars, vinaigrettes, tapenades, marinades, seasonings, and sweets that truly capture the essence of the LuLu dining experience. Over the years the products have won many awards and have received recognition from publications including Gourmet, Food & Wine, and Sunset magazines. 

LuLu products are perhaps best known for their unique flavor combinations, and we are constantly asked for new and fun ways to cook with them at home. In these pages our chefs have assembled some of their best recipes for your enjoyment. We hope they inspire you to explore all of the flavors of Restaurant LuLu.
