Description: Mr. Joseph McDonald joined Cunard Line in 1930 and served at sea continuously until his recent retirement. Besides the two greats, the Queen Mary and the Queen Elizabeth, Mr. McDonald has been head chef aboard such Cunard luxury liners as Mauretania, Caronia, and Franconia.
During his career (he is the longest serving executive chef for Cunard Lines), Mr. McDonald supervised cuisine for Her Royal Highness, Queen Mother Elizabeth, the Duchess of Kent, Princess Alexandra, the Shah of Iran, and Princess Saroya, Sir Winston Churchill, President Eisenhower, Cardinal Spellman and Sir Anthony Eden, as well as outstanding figures from the music, art, political and entertainment worlds.
