Description: "Lunch at Miss Daisy's" has been something of a tradition in Middle Tennessee for locals as well as folks traveling through the state. Miss Daisy's Tearoom opened in 1974 in Franklin, Tennessee, in a historical Victorian house built in 1910. "Miss Daisy's Tearoom" was the scene of many festive luncheons and surprise birthdays. Miss Daisy's moved to Nashville in 1982, expanding to a full-service restaurant. In the late 1980's, Daisy opened additional restaurants in two of Nashville's shopping malls. After 17 years in the restaurant business serving millions of guests, Daisy decided to retire from that arm of the food service industry. She is currently enjoying the opportunity to use her skills as a consulting home economist for Steven's Food Stores in Nashville and appearing on television shows promoting new food products.
Miss Daisy Entertains is a companion to Recipes from Miss Daisy's. It is a collection of recipes that guests have enjoyed at Miss Daisy's Tearoom. Daisy added a "Special Occasion" section to help in planning special meals. The recipe section has a full index from appetizers to desserts. The bread section has recipes that are fun for holiday giving.
Daisy King was one of the most pleasant aspects of dining at the Tearoom and her other restaurants. She made every effort to make her guests feel as though they were old friends for whom she had prepared a special meal. As a home economist major in college, she is aware that good food is a delicate combination of color, texture, taste, and quality. Equally as important is that all of the recipes can be prepared easily for two or two hundred in home kitchens.
Miss Daisy hopes you will enjoy using Miss Daisy Entertains and will turn family meals into memorable occasions.
