Great care has been taken to keep intact the charm and individuality of each dish as set down by the donors. 

Encore gives you complete and workable directions for preparing the appetizers, soups, sauces, spaghetti and pasta which are the specialties of the world's most honored musicians. There are recipes for main dishes, for fish, meats and poultry, for vegetables, salads, breads, cakes, cookies, pastries and desserts. The chapters are arranged to facilitate menu planning, with a general index for easy reference. 

Francis Robinson, Assistant Manager of the Metropolitan Opera Company, has written the delightful introduction for the book. The illustrations are the work of the famed orchestra conductor Antal Dorati. Pictures and anecdotal biographies of the contributing artists complement the good eating found in Encore, a cookbook with a distinctive flavor.
