Additional Details
Description: This Laurel Club cookbook, with both quantity and family size recipes, is prepared in response to the many requests by friends who have enjoyed the club's hospitality. In formulating its menus, the Laurel Club considers it important to serve well-balanced as well as attractive meals. All foods are prepared in its own kitchen, with every care for the need to provide the required vitamins, proteins, fats, and minerals basic to healthful as well as enjoyable eating.
The recipes, of course, may be enlarged or diminished to meet the needs of some particular occasion. The quantity recipes are suitable for use in various institutions, such as colleges, hospitals, and schools, as well as for the luncheons and banquets for which they were originally compiled. This organization has had a long career. Six women of the Stone Church, Independence, Missouri, desiring a closer fellowship, met May 10,1906, to select an appropriate activity. The Laurel Club, now limited to one hundred members, originated at that meeting.
