Description: Lacock Village was given to The National Trust by Miss Matilda Talbot in 1944. Dating from thirteenth century to the nineteenth cntury the village includes such items of interest as the medieval barn, the cruck beam house, the eighteenth century lock-up, the dog spit in the George Inn and the elegant parish church of St. Cyriac. Lacock Abbey, built in a variety of architectural styles, was originally a medieval nunnery and was converted into a family house in Tudor times.
This is the revised edition of the book of tea time recipes collected and used by Freda Murray over the years she ran King John's Hunting Lodge Tea Rooms, famous for home made cakes, scones, bread and jams. Mrs. Murray now runs the National Trust Information centre Lacock.
