Follow Norman and Justin as they stroll through Key West, re-creating dishes from "little joints" and restaurants both past and present. Organized by Key West neighborhoods, the chapters include "Duval and Downtown Crawlin'," "Places in the Hoods," "Places on the Water," "Around Town These Days," and "La Bodega," which includes more than 20 must-have pantry recipes. 

Each chapter includes the Van Akens* takes on their favorite foods of Key West and explains how they are "different than ordinary American fare." 

They also focus on the home cooking of Key West, whether it's "Yard Bird" Fricassee from the American South, Caramelized Plaintain Soup from the Spanish Caribbean, or Nassau "Rundown" with Snapper & Coconut from the Bahamas. Norman revisits menus from his past and chooses his favorite recipes, including his famous Hot Fried Chicken Salad from Louie's Backyard and Sunshine's Key Lime Pie from The Midget.
