Justin Wilson 2 Cookbook - Cookin' Cajun

The Justin Wilson #2 Cookbook - Cookin' Cajun is a sequel to his early book of the same name. Herein, Wilson offers some more great Cajun recipes like Roast Pork with Applekraut, Special Oven-Fried Turkey, Shoulder Beef Steak Etouffee, and more. This time around you'll notice one big different ... in this cookbook, Wilson includes dessert recipes. He didn't in the earlier book as he claimed he didn't like it and no one would have room for it after a real Cajun meal. Now he includes his Shoo-Fly-Pie, Pumpkin-Raisin Loaves, Louisiana Pecan Pie, Sweet Potato Nutty Chewies and several more desserts as good as these.

Additional Details

Description: Justin Wilson, who radiates to audiences across the nation the humor, charm, and earthy joie de vivre of Louisiana's storied Cajun country, has assembled in this volume another treasury of authentic Cajun recipes.

Host of a syndicated television cooking show, the world's premier Cajun humorist, and a gourmet chef in his own right, Wilson presents a wide range of zesty Cajun dishes that perfectly complement his highly successful first cookbook, The Justin Wilson Cook Book, which has gone through numerous printings.

For those who want to know the secrets of cooking Cajun, or for those who simply find dishes that pamper the taste buds irresistible, Justin's Cookin' Cajun fills the bill with pleasures to spare. Savor, for example, a variety of recipes under "Cooking in a Bag," a method by which meats can be cooked quicker -- and with results more tender -- than any non-Cajun dreamed possible.

Stuffed Cucumbers, Cajunized Oriental Pork Chops, Wild Duck and Turnips, Leftover Spaghetti Casserole, and the author's surefire formula for preparing a roux -- these are but a sample of the perhaps exotic, but certain-to-please recipes featured herein. Many of the dishes were perfected in the Wilson kitchen especially for his television show.

As in his first volume, the nationally known humorist spices these pages with a healthy helping of the Wilson brand of Cajun humor that continues to delight audiences everywhere.

Wilson, who has made more than a dozen LP records featuring the humor of the bayouland, is also the author of Justin Wilson's Cajun Humor, a collection of rollicking tales about things Cajun.
