Description: Hong Kong's renowned restaurant, Jimmy's Kitchen, was opened in 1928 as an exported and unofficial partner of the original Jimmy's in old Shanghai. That was where Daddy Aaron Landau first met Jimmy James, a retired U.S. navy officer, who put the Shanghai restaurant on the map as a home-cooking rendezvous for visiting American sailors. The two struck up an immediate friendship and when Aaron moved down to Hong Kong he soon established his first restaurant in Wanchai to cater in a similar manner to the British navy men. However, it was not long before the menu extended far beyond the horizons of a naval-diet.
