Every island has its own specialty and in her travels among them she has collected recipes for local dishes from family, friends and other islanders such as Doma tokefthethes from Santorini -- tiny delicacies with the deliciously fruity uneven cherry tomatoes -- or Karythopitta an exotically spiced walnut dessert from Hydra sparkling with the aroma of orange groves. 

Linda Smith's beautiful water colors, painted while traveling with the author, evoke the atmosphere of each different island, from the scorched terracotta bareness of Crete to the soft green curves of Corfu, and portray the local produce in all its glory.
