As a teenager, she published her first recipe in the Deseret News. She has since worked as food editor of Utah Homes and Lifestyles and Meridian magazines. Julie and her husband, David, are the parents of six children and the grandparents of sixteen and reside in Holladay, Utah. They enjoy gathering often with family and friends.
