Additional Details
Description: This is a book of authentic pioneer Western recipes. Nothing has been altered to fit the modern convenience. No short-cuts, no substitutions, no allowances for the faint-of-heart.
Here set down are all the famous cow-camp dishes -- six-shooter steak, rainy day meat pudding, son-of-a-bitch-in-a- sack (two types), prairie sausages, fire-hole beans, Warbonnet stew, also known as wahoo, or Rocky Mountain, and many more.
Cowboys had many wild names for their foods, but some of the preparations, particularly those using beef and sourdough, were incomparable.
