Rick Tramonto's Fantastico! cookbook is covered in this chef signature article. I remember chef Tramonto from Top Chef Masters as being one of the nicest chefs on the show. He was very likable, with a kind face and great sportsmanship. He definitely should be asked back for another chance at the title. I found this signed copy of his cookbook, Fantastico!--actually one of the only cookbooks of his I've found second hand. His other books must either fly off the shelves or people hold on tightly to their copies as I've spotted some other celebrity-like authors' cookbooks multiple times during my "treasure hunts" for collectible cookbooks but not Tramonto's. I've noted a range for the signed copy value as the book is not as readily available with the signature. Generally I'd lean towards the low $20s for a cookbook signed by a comparable chef.
About Rick Tramonto
Rick Tramonto is a Chicago chef, restaurateur, cookbook author and TV personality. Tramonto, a New York native born in 1963, started out his career at Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburger. He followed with work in New York, London and Illinois and went on to earn such accolades as one of Food & Wine Magazine's "Top Ten Best New Chefs," and "Best Chef: Midwest Region" by The James Beard Foundation. Tramonto appeared as a featured chef on episodes of Great Chefs of America and Great Chefs - Great Cities. He also appeared on reality-style culinary series including Top Chef Masters - Season 2. Tramonto, among the list of celebrity-style restaurateurs, co-founded Tru with his culinary partner/ex-wife Gale Gand and Rich Melman. He also co-founded Cenitare Restaurants which included Tramonto's Steak & Seafood, Osteria di Tramonto (closed) and RT Lounge. He left the company in 2009.
