Emeril Lagasse, top chef specializing in New Orleans Creole cuisine, has written many best-selling cookbooks (for both children and adults). His books retail new in the neighborhood of $20-$30. Many of his cookbooks are easy to find used or can be purchased for less online. I often come across Emeril's TV Dinners, Emeril's Potluck, Emeril's Creole Christmas and New New Orleans Cooking on my cookbook hunts--seeing one of these almost every time I shop for my store. Once or twice, I've been lucky enough to stumble upon a signed copy. These are a bit harder to find but not uncommon. A signed Emeril Lagasse cookbook usually sells second hand for the value of a new Emeril cookbook (see signed photo and values at bottom of post).

About Emeril Lagasse

Emeril Lagasse is one a top chef and television personality. He studied culinary arts and earned his degree from the respected culinary school at Johnson and Wales University, and later received an honorary Doctorate degree from the university. After graduating, Lagasse traveled to Paris and Lyon where he learned the art of classic French cuisine and later returned to the United States practicing his art in fine restaurants in New York, Boston and Philadelphia and finally, New Orleans. Lagasse established himself as a noted chef at the legendary Commander's Palace restaurant, where he was executive chef for seven and a half years. He is especially known for his "new" New Orleans Creole cuisine.

Lagasse is now the chef-proprietor of many top US restaurants from New Orleans to Las Vegas including: Emeril’s Restaurant, NOLA Restaurant and Emeril’s Delmonico in New Orleans; Emeril's New Orleans Fish House at the MGM Grand Hotel and Delmonico Steakhouse in the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas; Emeril’s Orlando, Emeril’s Miami Beach and Emeril’s Tchoup Chop in Florida; Emeril’s Atlanta in Georgia and Emeril’s Gulf Coast Fish House in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Lagasse is also a respected television chef and cookbook author. He is the host of the Food Network’s "Essence of Emeril" and "Emeril Live and has written many best-selling cookbooks, selling millions of copies worldwide.
