Additional Details

Description:  Omar Khayyam's is an Armenian restaurant with a Persian name in an American city -- San Francisco -- and it is outstanding even in that gourmet's paradise of a town. In Dinner at Omar Khayam's cookbook, George Mardikian reveals the culinary secrets which have made his establishment so famous. He also autographed this copy of the cookbook. The recipes are for Armenian food, prepared in the Armenian fashion, but seasoned to the American palate. The dishes described are exotic and different, but thrifty, healthful, and easy, even for amateur chefs, to prepare. His food is sophisticated enough for parties, but economical and well balanced enough to serve to the whole family.

Joseph Henry Jackson has written a delightful introduction which is really a mouth-watering essay on the pleasure of dining out in San Francisco. There is also a Foreword by William Saroyan.
