One Day Salad Recipe

This is a One Day Salad recipe, courtesy of my mother-in-law that is easy to make and will be a memorable dish that you will want to eat over and over again.

Recipe Instructions:

Ingredients:

  • 1 head iceberg lettuce 
  • Green Onions -- Don't overload 
  • Celery - 1 cup or a little more 
  • 8 oz. water chestnuts sliced 
  • 1/2 green pepper
  • 1 package frozen peas
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar 
  • 2 cups mayonnaise 
  • Seasoning Salt 
  • 3 hard boiled eggs 
  • 1 lb. crumbled fresh cooked bacon 
  • 3 medium tomatoes 

Preparation:

  • Prepare the salad from the lettuce, water chestnuts, thawed peas and celery 
  • Mix: mayo, sugar, Parmesan cheese, seasoning salt 
  • Put above mixture on top of salad as if it were icing on a cake 
  • Refrigerate 
  • Next day, when you are ready to serve: 
  • Add on top crumbled bacon, slices hard boiled eggs, tomatoes cut in wedges
