Bob Longhi Restaurateur Signature & Bio
Bob Longhi is the owner of Longhi's--an acclaimed Italian restaurant in the town of Lahaina on Maui. Longhi's has won numerous awards and is known for its great atmosphere and its charismatic owner, Longhi. That atmosphere and memorable menu draw celebrity fans including James Coburn and Kareen Abdul Jabbar. Longhi also has two other locations in Hawaii -- in Wailea, Maui and Ala Moana on Oahu.
I stumbled upon a signed copy of his cookbook -- Longhi's: Recipes and Reflections From Maui's Most Opinionated Restaurateur not too long ago. Restaurants are my cookbook collecting specialization so a signed book from such a famed restaurant made the find all the more exciting (see Bob Longhi's signature sample below). A signed copy should cost around $30 average--about the same price as a new retail copy, while an unsigned used copy can be purchased for $7 - $12 online.

Bob Longhi introduced contemporary Italian cuisine to Hawaii. He developed a love for food and wine during his long career as an insurance executive. After a visit to Maui in the mid-70's, Longhi decided to pursue his dream of opening a restaurant--thus Longhi's in the historic waterfront town of Lahaina in Maui. Longhi's is not only known for its great food and wine, but also for its excellent service and atmosphere.
