Chef Paul Prudhomme is a top chef known for his Cajun specialities and seasonings. He is sometimes mixed up with the actor Dom Deluise who also happens to author some cookbooks. The two have an amazing similarity. Like some of the other nationally-known TV chefs, Chef Paul's cookbooks are mainstream and are easy to find secondhand or used. On the other hand, a signed book by Prudhomme is somewhat harder to find. I have though, come across one or two during my years of cookbook collecting. Fortunately, unlike some of the other famed chefs, Chef Paul's signature is somewhat easy to make out as he carries over the "C" in "Chef" to make his "P" in "Paul" (see bottom of this post for a sample of Prudhomme's signature).

I often see signed Prudhomme books online for outrageous prices to the upwards of $200. These books though are valued substantially lower and sell for about $25-$30 signed so beware of being suckered in to a crazy price.

Chef Paul Prudhomme was the youngest of a family of thirteen children. He was raised on a farm near Opelousas in Louisiana. Prudhomme is well known for his Cajun specialties and restaurants. K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen--a New Orleans French Quarter restaurant owned by Prudhomme and his wife Kay, put the dish, blackened redfish on the map. Prudhomme is also the creator of popuar seasoning brand--Chef Paul Prudhomme's Magic Seasoning Blends. He is one of the country's best-known chefs and cookbook authors, appearing on many national television shows.
